Grants For Minority Seniorcitizen Women

For active minority senior-citizen women there is free money available in a wide variety of categories. Senior women may explore funding for education, health and business, and find a considerable number of opportunities available in these areas.

Grants

The AAUW (American Association of University Women) organization offers Career Development Grants to women and minority women pursuing their first advanced degree or credentials in nontraditional fields, or changing careers and re-entering the workforce. According to the AAUW, funds are available for tuition, fees, books, supplies, local transportation and dependent care

Scholarships

The AWG (Association of Women in Geosciences) Potomac Area Chapter awards two William Rucker Greenwood Scholarships each year in the amount of $1,000 to support outstanding minority women pursuing geoscience (geology) studies. According to AWG guidelines, eligible candidates must be minority women currently enrolled as full-time graduate or undergraduate geoscience majors in an accredited, degree-granting college or university in Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia or West Virginia.

Business Grants

The Minority Business Enterprise/Women's Business Enterprise (MBE/WBE) is another financial resource available to senior minority women. These are funds set aside specifically for women, and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) offers training on submit grant applications.
