Reset A Sears/Craftsman Garage Remote

Reset a Sears Craftsman garage remote before programming a new code.


Craftsman garage door openers are available for purchase from many Sears store locations and are available with different horse power models to meet the door opening needs of all kinds of home owners. Featuring chain or screw drive opening mechanisms, Craftsman garage door openers can be activated by means of a remote control opener. Resetting the remote codes programmed into the door involves a process of erasing the old remote and setting a new remote control code. Does this Spark an idea?


Instructions


1. Place a step ladder under the motor control housing of the Sears Craftsman garage door opener.


2. Locate the control panel on the motor control. Identify the control panel by the square "SRT" programming button, small indicator light and adjustment controls.


3. Press the "SRT" button. Hold the button for up to six seconds.


4. Watch the small display light beside the "SRT" button. Release the button when the light goes out, indicating that the old remote codes have been erased.


5. Select a remote control door opener. Press the door opener button on the control and hold it down.


6. Press the SRT programming button and release. Watch for the garage door opener courtesy light to flash one time, indicating this remote has been successfully programmed. Press the control button on the garage door remote to open and close the garage door.
