Government Grants For Widows

Government Grants for Widows

Losing a spouse can be devastating in and of itself, and if finances are a concern, the stress can often become overwhelming. Luckily there are governmental grants for women who have lost their spouses to help pay for things such as child care, education and housing. If you qualify for one or all of these grants, it will help moving on with life a little easier.

Single Mother Help

Single Mother Help is a government grant specifically created to help single mothers pay for education, housing, debt, transportation and child care. The amount awarded is based on personal need. To learn more about Single Mother Help, visit their website (see Resources below) to fill out a questionnaire or call toll free (877) 774-7282.

Education Connection

The Education Connection helps you find the perfect grant to help pay for college. There are many grants and scholarships offered by the government and other private sources for which you can apply. The most popular grant for education offered by the government is the Pell Grant. The Education Connection will not only assist you in finding the right grant, but also help you find where your interests lie. Though the Education Connection helps all people regardless of race, gender or religion find grants, being a widow and/or single mother increases your chances greatly of qualifying for assistance. For more information on the Education Connection, see Resources below.

Single Mother Resources

Single Mother Resources is a website designed to help widows and single mothers find the grant that is specific to their needs, including grants for education and money to start a small business. There are multiple grants available to single women to start up a small business. Housing Grants for Widows

The U.S. government has set aside a certain amount of grant money specifically to help single and widowed women buy homes. This grant money may also qualify you to get money to help with needed home improvement projects if you already own a home.
