Instructions
1. Clean your bathtub. Your tub must be spotlessly clean to ensure the chemicals involved with the repair will adhere to the tub surface. It is also necessary to remove any rust from the application area.
2. Purchase a repair kit. Repair kits come with filler, special sandpaper and a sealant. These kits can be found a most major home improvement retailers (see resources below).
3. Apply the filler. Following the directions included with your kit mix and place the filler in your holes, scratches or divots. Allow it to dry.
4. Sand the tub's surface. Once the filler has dried, sand the spots you have filled in with the sandpaper in your kit. You want to sand until you cannot feel the difference between the repaired areas and the rest of the tub.
5. Wipe the sanding dust away with a clean dry cloth.
6. Apply sealant. Apply several coats of sealant to your tub allowing the recommended drying time between coats.
