Promote A Handyman Business

If you're starting your own handyman business, you'll need to find ways to promote your new venture and attract customers. As a start up, you probably don't have much money to use for advertising, so you'll want to use more cost-effective methods.

Instructions

1. Make up a set of business cards. Have a set of business cards ready to hand out to potential clients. Include name, contact information, a logo and your services on the card. You can order handyman business cards from the Click Business cards website (see Resources below).

2. Hang up flyers in your neighborhood. Design a flyer in Photoshop and post it around your town. At the bottom of the flyer, cut little sections that allow people to pull off your contact information.

3. Purchase a listing in the yellow pages. When people look to hire handymen, they'll probably look in the yellow pages first. Register your business with the local phone company and place your ad in their directory.

4. Start promoting your handyman business online. Make up a website that gives information about your services provides contact information. You can also post free ads on classified sites like U.S. Free Ads (see Resources below).
