Repair Swift Binoculars

Eagle Optics makes the Swift series of binoculars. These binoculars are made for wildlife and bird observations. Inert gases fill the optical chambers, keeping the lenses fog-free. Depending on the model of Swifts you use, there are one or two focus dial adjustments. Eagle does not recommend you try to fix the actual lenses or optics, as they are calibrated by trained technicians. There are several small repairs to use when fixing your Swift binoculars.

Instructions

1. Turn any focus dial all the way counterclockwise, until it won't turn any further. Unscrew the retaining screw on the dials themselves and pull them off. Brush out the inside ring where the dials are housed. Free any debris or grit off the bolts. Add a small dollop of the dry lubricant on the bolt.

2. Pinch the eye pieces to feel for any looseness. If they are loose, pop the rubber eye pieces off the optics, clean them out with the chamois and place them back onto the lens chambers.

3. Tighten any screws or retaining bolts on the Swifts. Depending on the model, find them between the optic barrels or on the dials.

4. Replace the dials onto the Swifts. Add some lens cleaner to the chamois and wipe down the lenses. Use the compressed air to blow them dry and remove any dust particles left by the chamois.
