Turn On System Restore In Windows 7 Home Premium

System Restore can help repair your system software if you have problems with applications or operating system files. It lets you create restore points that you can use to return your computer to a previous state if it becomes unstable. Windows lets you enable system restore for each of your computer's hard drives and lets you decide how much space you want to allocate for system restore files.

Instructions

1. Click "Start," then right-click "Computer" and select "Properties." Click "System Protection" on the left pane and enter your administrator password if prompted.

2. Select each hard drive for which you want to enable system restore under "Protection Settings," then click "Configure." Select "Restore system settings and previous versions of files" under "Restore Settings" to protect both your files and system settings. Select "Only restore previous versions of files" if you do not want to protect your system settings. Drag the slider under "Disk Space Usage" to set a maximum amount of disk space for system restore.

3. Click "OK" twice to exit and save your settings.
