Remove A Broken 3m Command Strip

The 3M Command Strip is a handy way to decorate rooms without having to damage the wall by hammering nails and using picture hooks. You can change your mind; rearranging your pictures without having to patch holes in the wall afterwards. To remove a 3M Command Strip pull down on the tab to loosen the adhesive. However, if you pull too hard and the tab breaks it can command all your resources to get it off the wall. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions


1. Clear pictures from the wall near the broken Command Strip so you don't knock anything off the wall while removing the broken hanger.


2. Test the surface. Before you attempt to remove the broken 3M Command Strip, take the blow dryer and heat a small inconspicuous area of the wall. Make sure that heating the wall will not damage the surface or cause the paint to bubble. Apply hot air on the surface for a minute or two.


3. Apply heat to the broken 3M Command Strip. The heat from the blow dryer will cause the adhesive backing to loosen.


4. While the glue is warm, cut through the foam with dental floss to gently to remove the hook or hanger from the surface. Stretch or peel remaining adhesive from the wall.


5. Wipe the surface with alcohol after it has cooled to remove any sticky residue.
