Atlanta's Home Inspectors Business School offers students a five-week training course in which they will learn through 40 hours of class room instruction as well as 20 hours of in-the-field training. Students will receive training in home exteriors, foundations, plumbing and septic systems, home framing, electrical systems as well as heating and cooling units. As of Spring 2010, the total cost of the course was $1195. Payment plans as well as financing are available through the school, if needed. Georgia Institute of Real Estate


The Georgia Institute of Real Estate offers students a 51-hour course in the field of home inspection. Covering everything from the fundamentals of a home inspection to liability issues of operating your own business, this course prepares students for the American Society of Home Inspector's national examination. The course consists of classroom instruction, home study and a practice home inspection for hands on experience. There are two different scheduling options available for students. Students may either take classes every Saturday for 7 weeks, or attend courses for one week, Monday - Saturday. As of Spring 2010 current tuition costs for the course, books and materials was $1,499, however there is an option for those who register early to pay a reduced rate of $999. Barney Fletcher Schools


Barney Fletcher Schools offers its students flexible options to work around their busy schedules. Students may either take their home inspection courses on-line at their own pace or through the school itself with a 42-hour classroom option. Online students learn about the importance of a home inspection as well as preparing a home for inspection. Students also learn methods to limit their own liability during the inspection process.
