Donations Grants For The Disabled In Virginia

Disabled residents of Virginia can lead productive lives through several helpful programs.

Disabled residents of the state of Virginia may qualify for several grant programs that are designed to provide financial assistance to qualified applicants. These grant programs, which are distributed through various organizations throughout the Old Dominion State, help to offset the costs of housing, education and home repairs to disabled residents of Virginia and, unlike loans, require no repayment.

Arlington Housing Grants

The City of Arlington, Virginia provides grants to disabled, low income citizens of the city of Arlington to help with the cost of housing. The housing grants program, which serves senior citizens, disabled applicants and working households with small children, issues grants in the form of housing vouchers that are used to help offset the cost of rent. In order to qualify for the grant funding, applicants must be at least 62 years of age, permanently disabled, a patient of a county recognized and operated mental health program or be the head of a working family with at least one child living in the household who is under the age of 18. Applicants must also not exceed income guidelines as determined by household size. Applicants must apply directly through the City of Arlington Housing Assistance Program to see if they qualify.
