Remove residue from your non-stick pans.
Even though using cooking spray isn't necessary when you're using non-stick cookware, it's such a habit that most people do it anyway. The spray won't necessarily harm your pots and pans, but over time it can create a residue that can build up and become more and more difficult to remove. Nip the problem in the bud by getting rid of the buildup.
Instructions
1. Soak the pan in hot water, 1/2 cup of white vinegar and 2 tablespoons of baking soda. Alternately, fill the pan with water and let the water, vinegar and baking soda mixture boil on the stovetop, then remove it from the heat.
2. Set the pan in a sink full of water and scrub the cooking spray residue off with a sponge or non-abrasive scrubber. Add a squirt of dishwashing liquid and keep scrubbing with hot water to completely remove the cooking spray buildup.
3. Rinse the cookware clean with cold water. Dry it by hand using a soft, clean towel.
Tips Warnings
Avoid putting non-stick cookware in the dishwasher.
Never use abrasive scrubbers on this type of cookware, especially steel wool.
