Repair A Computer Crash

Repair your computer crash quick and easily.

Computers can make tasks easier at home and at work, but there are also times when your computer will just not do what you want it to do. This can be frustrating and can be the result of many underlying issues. Your computer could crash from broken hardware, corrupt software or missing computer files. This can create a problem for you, making you spend additional time on what could have been a simple task. Learning to fix a computer crash by yourself at home can ease the frustration and bring your computer back to life.

Instructions

Uninstall Programs

1. Read the recommendations on the screen if your computer displays a blue "crash" screen. Allow your computer to complete the automatic shutdown or restart. Enter "Safe Mode" in your computer's menu on the initial startup screen. This can usually be done by pressing the "F2" or "F8" button when Windows is loading.

2. Remember which programs you were using when the blue screen came up. It may be a program that was running in the background, not one you were using actively. This may show you which program caused the computer to malfunction.

3. Click "Start," and select "Control Panel." Click the "Add/Remove Programs" option. This will bring up a new dialog box.

4. Find the program that you suspect caused the error. Choose to uninstall the program. Restart your computer regularly.

5. Reinstall the program that you have uninstalled. If the problem continues, uninstall another program that could be causing the problem.

Use a Registry Cleaner

6. Use a registry-cleaner program if the problem persists and is not fixed within your programs. It may not be an issue with a program, but a problem with your system files.

7. Download a registry cleaner to identify any system files that may need to be repaired.

8. Run the installation file and install the program on your computer. Follow all installation instructions.

9. Start the registry cleaner. Allow it to scan and fix any problems with your system files.

10. Restart your computer once the scan is complete.
