Various garage doors use keypad entry systems

Among the best selling garage doors in the United States, Craftsman also offers a line of accessories and technologies for safety, security and convenience. These include the garage door keypad entry system, which allows you to open your garage door without a remote from inside of your house or car, or from outside of your garage. Craftsman keypads require a passcode to enter the garage, and you can set and reset this passcode as often as you would like using simple programming instructions, which can be completed in just minutes. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Locate the "smart" button on your garage door motor inside of your garage. This button is located on the side or back of the motor near the light cover and is next to the system's red indicator light.

2. Press and release the "smart" button on the motor and the light will begin to glow for 30 seconds.

3. Enter a new four-digit number on your keypad and press and hold the "Enter" button on the keypad.

4. Wait for the lights on the motor to blink and release the "Enter" button. The keypad will now be programmed with your new passcode and ready for use.
