We are looking into purchasing a above ground spa for our backyard, located in Las Vegas. We have talked to a lot of retailers and found most don't care to give you the time of day. One company has been great they carry a different Mfr models but recommend the brand name Tuff Spas. I cannot find a review on the net. I did call the factory and he said they have been in business for three years. He gave me a few refferences. I would appriciate any comments.
I have no experience with Tuff Spas, but I have had great luck with my Hot Springs.
I have had a 6 man Maxx spa for 3 years now. I live in SUDBURY ONTARIO CANADA and this unit sits outside all year with temp range of -40 to +30.
Great unit, great fun and buying MAXX was a great descision.
I purchased at HOME DEPOT.

I did have and sold Hot Spring Spas in Arizona 1978 thru. 1985 amoung other brands , and I would highly recommend this Spa, it is full insulated with polyeurthane and has full rated swimming pool size pumps, meaning they are capable of running 24 / 7 parts are obtainable in Las Vegas . { I know a lot of people would wonder why anyone would need a insulated spa in Las Vegas where the temps can climb to 115 ° it snows people , yes snows ont the mountain ridge right out side of L. V. ]

just got off this site they sell the tuff spas, not a lot of in depth specs. ok for a homeowner, but you still won't know a lot about the spa,
I personally would pick a spa that has been around for awhile, [ there were apx. 100 spa manufactures most located in Calif. back in 1988 , I would guess there are no more than 20 in the whole u.s. ] anyone care to comment here please do.
Ill try to explain , without being toooo long, spas come in different classifications, most people refer to them as hot tubs, jacuzzis, or spas, clearification.
hot tubs are wooden tubs generally made of redwood, teak, mahogany, some have a plastic liner inside most don't,
Jacuzzi, a self contained spa made by Jacuzzi, located in Little Rock, Ak. the first spa manufactures thus, lets buy a Jucuzzi
self contained spa, having the equipment underneath the skirt
moveable spa same as above with the exception the equipment connects to the spa via hoses and the equipment is located close but not under the spa.
now to the critical part, because the equipment mus reside in such a small space, allmost always it must be spa sized, and normally do not perform as a full size swimming pool or spa with the equipment located some distance away, [ not to be confused with moveable equipment , spa pak in other words]

like i said in my first post the Hot Springs Spa has full size swimming pool rated pumps, and a rather large filter for a spa. they have been in business for apx. 1974 and have grown tremendously, that should tell you something
